Neer Dosa

Neer Dosa literally means Water dosa is a crepe prepared from rice batter. It is light type of dosa. Neer dosa is a delicacy from Dakshina Kannada region of Karnataka. Neer means water in Kannada, Tulu.
This dosa is prepared in my parents home as well as my in laws frequently since it is very easy to prepare and tasty too. My husband craves for this neer dosa and it is very easy than any other dosa since not much of work. So even I prepare it frequently.

Ingredients:
  1. White Rice-1
  2. Salt
  3. Water
  4. Coconut- 1/2cup(optional)

Method:
  • Soak white rice in water for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Grind the soaked white rice with water to make a runny batter(consistency of a buttermilk), also add salt while grinding.
  • A thin layer of batter is poured onto a heated flat  griddle(tawa) greased with oil. Cover the tawa with a lid for 30seconds. This dosa is cooked from only one side.
  • Open the lid, and fold the neer dosa and remove from Pan.
  • Serve it hot with any chutney.

P.S:  Addition of Coconut increases the dosa taste. Dosa might stick to the pan due to the addition of coconut(read it some where)
